I'm back from Bali! Too short a trip if u ask me.. we probably wld have seen a lot more if we had more time.
4 of us went and i didn't know 2 of them at first.. haha but we got along from the start and we really enjoyed each other's company that by the end of the trip, i forgot that i didn't know 2 of them before this.
We stayed at Alam Kul Kul Boutique Resort, one of the few hotels in Bali which has a halal breakfast buffet. It's a nice hotel, kinda chalet-like but prettier. We reached there Friday night and just spent the night walking around the hotel and taking photos and meeting up with our driver for the weekend and discussing with him the places to go.
Saturday was spent mostly sight-seeing and taking more photos. First up was the Barong dance play..
Folowed by lunch on Mt Batur, a volcano! The air was cold up here.. but the view was spectacular..
And then taking photos at the terrace rice field..
We ended the day with sunset at Jimbaran Beach.. I just love the beaches there.. seriously..
Sunday was when we had the more adventurous albeit wet activities!
White water rafting! 1 of the best experiences of my life! I think the river was called Ayuni River.. and it lasted for abt 2hrs. The white water rafting was really great but it was getting to the river that pretty much took a toll on us. We had to go down steep dirt steps for about 20 mins before we reached the river and by the time we reached, all of us had jelly legs.. literally. And at the end of it, we had to go up another long flight steps. My thighs are still hurting right now.. i'm having difficulty sitting down and getting up. :P But it was worth it..
I still had the energy though to go parasailing! It's like being on top of the world. The view from up there was breathtaking! It was short but very fulfilling.
Up next was snorkelling.. the water was a little murky but i did manage to see many many beautiful fishes. I even saw a green water snake which made me panic and swallow some sea water. :P
Stopped by turtle island where we were afraid of 80% of the animals there. The photo above, everyone was trying to be as far away from the bird (i dunno what bird it is, i was too busy trying to stay away from it's claws!) as possible.
We ended the day at Tanah Lot.. which is actually a temple on the edge of a cliff. View was incredible as expected although we did miss the sunset by a couple of mins which was a bummer..
but we still managed to get some lovely photos.
There's Krispy Kreme in Bali!!! I brought back 3 boxes.. :D
Our last day was spent walking ard Kuta and shopping.
And then we went back to the hotel for our complimentary massage.
All of us feeling refreshed after the massage..
Spent some time at Kuta Beach taking photos before it was time to go to the airport.
I'm finding it difficult to go back to werk tomorrow. Lucky i'm on leave today otherwise i'd probably collapse of exhaustion. It's been a great holiday and Bali is really beautiful. But if i ever go back there again, i think i'll need to stay a couple more days..
